Right after the World's Fair kicked off in 1982, scores of workers that had helped were laid off - leaving Doug Lloyd with a choice to move to larger cities or stay close-by with family and friends. He chose to stay, and co-founded Lloyd's Electric Service, Inc. with his father, Jim Lloyd. Asked about the values Doug had been raised with that helped him and the company reach their success, he had this to say:
"Be fair. Be somewhat humble. Don’t be afraid of hard work. Treat everyone the way you would like to be treated. And everything else will take care of itself."
